How to Create The Right Mix of Affiliate Programs to Increase Your Sales

jjarrettAffiliate Programs

Affiliate programs are a great way to make more money from your business. First, it’s a way to add additional product offerings to your website. Second, you have an opportunity to sell more expensive product offerings on your site. This gives you the opportunity to offer upsells.

On the other hand, if all of your product offerings are expensive, you can also offer a lower priced affiliate product to introduce others to your current product offerings.

Although there are many things you can do to get the most out of affiliate programs, here are five things that will help you make more money:

1. Mix up your offerings.

There are a lot of different types of affiliate programs: Pay Per Click, Pay Per Lead, and Pay Per Sale.

Pay per click offerings are where you get paid every time someone clicks through. Examples include Google Adsense. Pay Per Lead is when the person clicks through and takes an appropriate action. This includes completing an application, signing up for a free offer, or whatever the merchant is offering.

Pay per sale is where you get paid a commission, either a percentage or dollar amount, every time someone clicks through and buys something.

When choosing affiliate programs, make sure you integrate all of these different kinds of offerings. By offering different options, you give visitors a choice. It also gives you an opportunity to more easily cover all of the bases and make money.

2. Add membership sites to the mix.

Membership sites are a way to add a residual income to your site. A residual income is money you continue to make for as long as the person is a customer.

One example of someone who has used membership sites as a way to earn a lot of money is Rosalind Gardner. She started a dating site several years ago. By offering reviews and giving her visitors a lot of options, as well as more information, she makes over six figures on sites related to dating.

You may not be able to find membership sites related to your topic. If you want to create a monthly income and get paid every month whether you work or not, it’s definitely worth considering.

3. Look for lifefimte commissions.

Lifetime commissions are where you get paid for all sales on a customer you referred. This is one of the best types of programs to get into. Although it is not as much of a residual income as membership sites, it does mean more money for you.

The issue here for you is cookies. You want to make sure when you sign up for any program that they offer a cookie that lasts as long as possible. Most people won’t buy on the first shot. If they return to the site, they usually use the main domain. The longer the cookie is set for your affiliate ID, the more likely you are to get paid for that referral.

Don’t leave money on the table. Mix up your offerings, you’ll make more money.

Are You Being Sociable?

jsladerAffiliate Programs

Sometimes affiliate marketing can be a lonely business. You sit in front of your personal computer everyday looking at traffic statistics. You constantly write articles and send them to your quality article distribution service. Maybe you write product reviews and brandable reports. However, are you connecting with people on a regular basis? Being sociable can open up new markets for your affiliate products.

Being sociable on the Internet means visiting chat portals, blogs, and forums. It also means responding personally, not via automated responses, to e-mails you receive for more information on an affiliate product. The more times potential customers see you as a person, and not a walking commercial, the better.

Those people who comprise your niche market want something of value from you. When you visit a chat site or forum related to your affiliate topic, go there with the intent to inform. Do not go there as a veggie-slicer TV salesperson pressing for a sale.

When you engage in discussions with like-minded individuals concerning your affiliate topic show them you are an expert in the subject. Give them useful information and point them to where they can access more information. Let them know where your website is and where your in-depth article content resides. Don’t recite scripted sales letters to them on a chat site or a forum venue. The selling part of your job comes later. You are engaging here in pre-selling conversation.

Visiting blogs is a tool to grow your affiliate business. When you check out web blogs that deal with topics related to your affiliate product, leave comments. In your comments, place a link to your website. If you leave intelligent comments that answer questions posed, you encourage a reader to check you out further. Take the time to check out the plethora of blogs on the web. Make a list of the ones appropriate to your affiliate topic. Schedule time to post relevant comments on these chosen blogs each week.

It’s the same with e-mail correspondence. Your affiliate website may encourage feedback and questions from your visitors. You encourage this so you can provide more affiliate product information to a potential customer. You also encourage this so you can build your list.

When visitors to your site request more information do you just send out a pre-written automated response. While there is nothing wrong with that, it doesn’t hurt to answer some e-mails personally. You cannot answer all of them, or even a third of them. You can answer, however, a sampling of them on a monthly basis. You build customer relationships this way.

Answering a handful of e-mails personally on a regular basis means changing the subject line so it’s more personal. If you do not, it will appear as just a sales type response and may get the big “X” for deletion. Address your e-mail personally to the person receiving it and put a short personal message in the subject line to encourage opening.

Take the time to be sociable when it comes to affiliate marketing. When you engage in one on one conversation with potential customers, you breathe life into your business. Let’s face it, affiliate marketing can seem highly impersonal at times. Make your affiliate business more personal and get those persons showing up as traffic to your website.

Reporting for Duty - Using Special Reports to Promote You Business

jsladerAffiliate Programs

You’re looking for ways to get your affiliate business moving. You have the product or products. You have your blogsite and website all ready to go. You are engaging in article writing and article promotion through a good article distribution service. What else can you do to promote your Internet business? One thing you can do is write a brandable report and get it into the hands of as many people as is possible.

You have a specific line of affiliate products. Why not write a report related to the topic of your affiliate program. You write articles for your article marketing efforts. These articles are chock full of useful information that give something of value to your readership. You may have that blog where you consistently post useful and helpful content. You may have that website where you post more information such as product reviews and the like.

Why not take a lot of the information you already have created and summarize it in a report specific to your affiliate program. You can even concentrate on just one aspect of your affiliate program and write a report on it, saving other aspects for other reports. When you write timely, useful, reports packed with advice, and offer them free; you gain more people likely to click on your links imbedded in the report.

Once you write a report that provides solutions, answers, advice, ideas and processes for your readers, give it away. Use your article marketing efforts to get people to link back to your website. Use your blog to get readers to link back to your website. On your website have that report available as a free download. Let those who choose to download it know that they can brand it with their own name and give it away as well. Just let them know that the report must not be sold, it must be given away.

You want to get as many reports out there as possible with your links in them. Let those who choose to offer your report, as part of their own brand, know that they cannot alter the content or links in any way.

Now, do the work you need to do, just as you promote other products, to get the word out about your report. Encourage visitors to download the useful report for their own use. You can then sit back and let them spread the free report throughout their own network, according to your stipulations for the report. They will drive traffic to their business and yours alike as they begin to market the report. You can also do this with detailed e-books you may write. Making free reports and e-books brandable is one of the most effective ways for affiliates to promote.

What’s great about free reports and even those free e-books is the fact that you are giving something away to users. You are providing them useful resources at no cost to them, to help them in their businesses, or to help them make buying decisions about specific affiliate products. I’m sure, as an affiliate marketer, that you have accessed free reports and books.

You may have a small library of them stowed away in a file folder on your PC. These are those reports that gave you more knowledge about an affiliate product. These are those reports you downloaded that gave you that sage advice on how to get affiliate traffic and build your affiliate business. You were happy to get them free. You were happy to put the information provided to you into practice.

You may have followed a link back to the report’s author and accessed even more information from his or her website. You may have even ended up purchasing one of their affiliate products in the process. You want these same results with those free reports that you make brandable.

Get the word out about your affiliate topic and by association your affiliate business, by writing free reports. Let those free reports spread like honey over a huge stack of waffles, on the net. The results will be tasty and sweet when you let your free brandable reports satisfy your hunger for greater affiliate profits.

Internet Marketing…The Magic of Voice Broadcasting

craig1961Affiliate Programs

Voice broadcasting is broadcasting a marketing message to phones from an automated calling list. Using voice broadcasting in a marketing campaign is like cashing in on the natural desire for one person to connect with another. The human voice is the most recognizable sound to any ear, and voice broadcasting makes good use of this fact. Voice broadcasting magic comes when the voice is practiced, and the message polished.

Being polished and practiced doesn’t mean you need to hire a professional announcer or voice celebrity to produce your voice broadcast, but it does mean you need to layout and plan your voice broadcast campaign. Along with a good message, presentation is important to the voice broadcast campaign. Virtually any voice will do, but like acting, getting a spot on performance takes practice.

Everyone has heard a voice broadcast at some point. Politicians use voice broadcast to get the vote out, schools use them to get school closing information out and you can use them to increase lead generation and pump up sales. But can you remember a voice broadcast that prompted you to action?

Chances are the voice broadcast coming to your mind met a few important criteria. First, the message was something you had an interest in. Second, the message caught your interest quickly. Finally, listening to it was not like listening to fingernails grated across a blackboard. Addressing the first two hurdles comes with targeting your audience and writing good copy, both lengthy topics in their own right. The last item, the listening appeal of the voice broadcast, is something I can give you a few tips on in this article.

The character in a voice broadcast comes from; you guessed it, the voice. Picture it like this. You go to a theater, lay your money down and watch the movie. Wouldn’t you feel a little bit taken if the actors stumbled across their lines, missed deliveries and generally botched the story up. Almost everybody would notice and the movie would flop. That’s why actors rehearse. When they get in front of the camera they know their stuff cold. From rehearsing the basics they put their craft in play and create movie magic. That’s kind of how you need to think about a voice broadcast. You need to rehearse the lines to get the magic to happen.

I like to read sales books by a guy named Zig Ziglar. In his book “Secrets of Closing the Sale” he has an entire section about voice training. Ziglar is a very successful entrepreneur so I take what he says pretty seriously. His message on voice training works in all aspects of sales, and voice broadcasting is no different.

His biggest suggestion and I agree, is to record yourself as you read your voice broadcast copy. Recording is the best way to get a feel for how you’re doing. Listen to your voice broadcast recording and notice voice inflections. Like grammar, inflection carries a lot of meaning in the spoken word. Also pay attention to the tenor in the voice broadcast. When you play it back does it sound the way you want it to? Compare your recording to a voice broadcast you consider successful and think about how it stacks up.

Putting together a good voice broadcast is not rocket science, but it does require planning and preparation. Part of that preparation is rehearsing the script. If you take the time to listen to the message in the broadcast and critique it, then you’ll be well on your way to getting a quality voice broadcast delivered to your audience.

Make Money Online Using FaceBook

Todd_LambAffiliate Programs

Over the last few years social networking sites have become increasingly popular. Most recently FaceBook has really exploded in popularity. Because of this popularity,it is now a great place to make money. Here is how you can earn money on FaceBook.

FaceBook is just like MySpace, but for the professional. Recently adults have been joining this social network in droves. That means there are now more people to market to as well as potential leads. Simply stated, you can now tap into all these people in order to market your products and services.

One of the best ways to earn money on FaceBook is to fill-out a content rich page and then begin to join groups. There are many excellent groups on FaceBook. If you join one of these groups and become a contributing member, you can market to these people but just be careful not to overdo it. You must be willing to add value before you try to make money from your connections.

Another fantastic way to make money on FaceBook is to use your imagination and create an application. Applications are like little games or different types of functions you can add to your page to make it more interesting. These are developed by companies other than FaceBook and can be very lucrative. In fact, one company’s application is worth approximately $300 million. It simply takes your imagination and a good contact who can build your application for relatively low cost. There are plenty out there and I happen to know a really good one.

FaceBook is set-up so that the only people who can see your account are people who are associated with you. You have to live in the same area, go to the same college, work in the same place, or have some other type of connection. If you do not already have a connection then the person would have to accept you as a friend so that you can each see each others profiles.

If you join a group with other people then you are automatically associated with them. And if you provide great content to these people and become seen as an expert in that niche, then you can then begin to post links back to your site and you will get traffic to that site and you will make more sales because of it. In other words, you will earn money on FaceBook.

Now, the last thing you want to do is SPAM anyone. This will turn everyone off and it will result in you losing your account. So you need to make sure you put in the necessary effort with the contacts you make. You need to build your reputation and you also need to establish yourself as an expert. If you do these two things then you will definitely make money.

Contrary to what many think, you can earn money on FaceBook. It is just another web 2.0 tool enabling you to make money with Internet Marketing, and it is one of the best ways. Just make sure you take your time and put in the necessary effort. If you do then you will reap the benefits and explode your income.
