If you’re promoting too many affiliate marketing programs you will get distracted and not be able to maximize your efforts. The best way to maximize the potential of making more money is by joining just one affiliate marketing program that pays a high commission.

Then give it your best shot by promoting your product enthusiastically. As soon as you see that it is already making a reasonable profit, then maybe you can join another affiliate marketing program.

The third most common mistake you can make is not buying or using the product before starting out selling it. When you become an affiliate for a product your primary purpose is to promote that product to your audience in a convincing manner. There is no way to do this if you have not actually tried the product or service yourself. People can see right through fake testimonial and this can hurt your chances at making sales, not to mention ruining your online credibility.

So try the product first and make sure it delivers on its promises then you will be able to transmit true knowledge of the product to your customers. Don’t forget to include blog commenting and message forums in building up your links online. You can be helpful to people on relevant blogs and boards and show them you’re an expert. People want to buy products from business owners that are helpful and knowledgeable. Be smart, be an expert in your area, and you can optimize your search engine results.
